Labor Day 2014 was a very sad day in our neighborhood. Kara was murdered as a result of domestic abuse. Sasi Soaps is honoring Kara by donating 10 percent of sales to the Domestic Abuse Project (DAP) in Minnesota for the months of August, September and October.

Saturday, August 23rd will be the First Annual Chris and Kara Memorial Golf Outing benefiting the Domestic Abuse Program. Please make any donation you can to support DAP in honor of Chris and Kara.

Hotel Soaps

During the past month, I've been doing a lot of traveling and I'd like to talk about hotel soap. During my travels I forgot to pack a couple of bars of Sasi Soap and ended up using the hotel cleansing product. I call it a cleansing product because I highly doubt the product I used was soap. I stayed at three types of hotels, a low end motel at the top of Lake Michigan, a high end resort in Traverse City Michigan, and a four star chain in Chicago. Each product was reflective of the quality of hotel I stayed at, but all of them were drying and damaging to my skin.

You can expect to see a new product line coming from Sasi Soap - travel size soap bars. Over the next couple of months I'll be working on this new product line and will be looking for volunteers to test the soap for durability, size and packaging.  Please send an email to maria@sasisoaps.com if you are interested in testing this product.

You can expect the travel soap from Sasi Soaps to have the following qualities:
  • Sizing  - small enough so it is light weight yet large enough for 3 days of use.
  • Packaging  - durable enough for cosmetic bags and dopp kits, but small and light enough that you can easily carry it on. It also needs to be easy to open with wet hands.
  • Durability - travel soap needs to have a certain hardness to it, so it doesn't create a mess in the hotel shower or your cosmetic bag.
  • Gentleness - travel soap needs to be gentle since the hotel typically has very hard chlorinated water.

Again - sign up for your sample trial bars of travel soap and provide us your feedback for the best travel soap of the group.

My name is Maria Saulsbury and I'm the founder and creater of Sasi Soaps. I love the process of taking oils and lye and creating soaps. But lately, I've been using the oils used in soaps for creating bug deterrents. I love having these natural products available for avoiding bugs.
